WikiLeaks and US - India Relations
WikiLeaks have created a Strom in the cup of US government diplomacy. Is this going to dilute the US - India Relationships?
There is no reference to India in the released cables of WikiLeaks. The purpose of WikiLeaks is to tarnish the image of US and create an embarrassing situations to them. It could be a arm twisting act for a favor or for other motive. All media houses should give less importance to WikiLeaks stories and stay focused on other important agendas.

President Obama is on a three day visit to India next week. This will be his first longest stay abroad. He has two important historical visits. One is to the Mani Bhavan Gandhiji Museum in Mumbai. And another to the Gandhi Samadhi.

US VISA
One of my friend applied for US tourist Visa. I was shocked to hear that his application was rejected. Most of us want to make use of an opportunity to visit US to look at the Statue of Liberty, White House and Washington.
But the Embassy officials reject visa on various grounds like, no blood relations, income tax etc. At least they could consider giving tourist visa for limited time period for rejected applications. This will help tourist to make use of an opportunity to have a glimpse of the Super Power at least once in there life time.

US AND INDIA
US Embassy has its office at New Delhi in a very posh area. It has signed an agreement with a builder for developing a project costing to several cores of rupees. But the Indian Government has not approved the project and not cleared the proposal to hand over the land to the builder.
The US Government has been taxing the housing benefits of our Indian Officials at the US. And our Government is paying a lot of money to the US as tax. There is no need to waste the public money to others as tax when there is lot of money required to do social work and improve infrastructure at villages.

US VISA FEE HIKE
Recently the US Government has increased the H1B visa fee. And the India Government has approached the WTO for an solution. Small percentage of Indian people depend on US employment. Though they earn a large sum of money the hike should be nominally. It should be at a acceptable level in terms of package and benefits.
A win to win compromise must be achieved between the two countries to enhance the one to one relation ship.

Tajmahal and Statue of Liberty
The thoughts that come into the mind while watching the Taj Mahal of Agra is not just its phenomenal beauty, but the immense love which was the reason behind its construction. Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan got this monument constructed in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, with whom he fell in love at the first sight. The very first sight of the Taj Mahal, the epitome of love and romance leaves one mesmerized.
On July 4, 1986, America threw a special birthday party for the Statue of Liberty. With a golden sunset glowing in the background, President Ronald Reagan declared, "We are the keepers of the flame of liberty; we hold it high for the world to see." Later, the president pressed a button that sent a laser beam across the water toward the statue. Slowly, dramatically, majestically, a light show unveiled Liberty and her new torch, while spectacular fireworks exploded across the sky. With an entire nation watching - along with 1.5 billion television viewers around the world - and thousands of people filled with gratitude, one wonders how Bartholdi and Laboulaye might have felt as Liberty enlightened the world that historic night.

PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE
President Barack Obama recalled the visit of India’s first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru to the US in 1949.
For it was exactly 60 years ago, in a ceremony not unlike this, that an American president welcomed to the White House the first prime minister of an independent India,” he said, rolling out the red carpet for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the first state visit of his presidency.
“And as Prime Minister Nehru said of the work before them, may our two great nations ‘find many ways of working together in friendly and fruitful cooperation to our mutual advantage, and for the good of humanity,’” Obama recalled.
