OBAMA ON MAHATMA

President Obama is on a three day visit to India next week. This will be his first longest stay abroad. He has two important historical visits. One is to the Mani Bhavan Gandhiji Museum in Mumbai. And another to the Gandhi Samadhi.

President Obama is known for his respect for the Mahatma. He has kept the framed picture of Gandhiji in his Senate office and invoked Gandhiji’s name in his Nobel Peace Prize speech.

US officials quotes, “The example of Gandhiji is one that has inspired Americans, inspired African Americans, including Dr. King, and its very personally important to the President.”
